Have you trained your brain today?®️

What about your animal companion’s brain?

What is NeurOptimal®️ Dynamical Neurofeedback®️?
NeurOptimal® uses the power and intelligence of your own brain to improve its function.
Training your brain with NeurOptimal is a key part of a wellness program. Many people are training their muscles and cardiovascular systems but are missing the key piece of training their brain. Training your brain can increase flexibility and resilience making it easier to work through the challenges life can throw your way. People report feeling more calm, more focus, more energy, more patience, less reactive, have better sleep, better memory, and resilience in their daily life.

01 How does it work?

NeurOptimal®️ Dynamical Neurofeedback®️ is brain training in real time. It measures the
electrical current emitted from your scalp at a rate of 256 times/second and utilizes a
mathematical procedure to recognize shifts. When these shifts happen it provides
feedback to your brain in the form of interruptions in the music playing. This provides
your CNS (Central Nervous System) information about what your brain is doing and
uses that information to form new patterns. The more the CNS learns from the
information provided the less likely it is to repeat certain behaviors.

What is the difference between Linear Neurofeedback and Dynamical Neurofeedback®️?

Your brain is an intelligent, constantly changing organ which can utilize information to
benefit itself. NeurOptimal®️ reads the brain and provides feedback as a whole allowing
it to organize itself. Linear Neurofeedback looks at parts of the brain and trains parts to
do specific things based on scans from a one moment in time and a practitioners
diagnosis. NeurOptimal®️ is partnering with the brain to make the changes so no formal
diagnosis or scans are needed, NeurOptimal®️ and your brain do the work together in real
time.

How many sessions should I do and will the results last?

The number of sessions required to see changes differs from client to client. One client
may see minor changes in 6-10 sessions, others may require 15-20 sessions or more.
Often times the shifts happen in small increments. Your trainer will help you track and
evaluate to see the shifts happening as they can be hard to notice as you are slowly
changing over time. Many clients find that the changes last and they don't feel the need
to train again after they are finished with their sessions. Other clients feel that they need
to return for booster sessions every now and then to maintain results. Every brain is
unique!

Why NeurOptimal®️ for my animal companion?

Neuroptimal®️ (NO) was originally designed for human beings but trainers from all over
the world started using NO on their animal companions. The testimonials shared on the
NO community support group show impressive and positive results on dogs, cats, and
horses. NeurOptimal®️ is not a conscious process and requires no active participation
from the client. So working with a dog, a cat or a horse is really no different than
working with a human brain. A friend inspired me to check it, out of curiosity, with a few
animals in our community and I found that it was beneficial with the animals I worked
with.

My Project on NeurOptimal®️ and Animal Companions.

A 4 week pilot project using NeurOptimal®️ Dynamical Neurofeedback®️ was started in my community. I met at the animal companion owner’s house, once a week, for a 15 minute session increasing to a 30 minute session when I felt the animal would not be overwhelmed. There were 5 dogs participants and I worked with my 2 cats as well. For this particular project, we were looking for animals that display anxiety and senior animals entering the palliative care phase of their lives.
In the assessment questionnaire I asked to observe the shift, duration, intensity, and frequency
of any of their concerns. I asked questions about their physical health, emotional health, focus, training, behavior, reaction to other dogs or humans, sign of aggression, fear, sleep patterns, barking, pain, injury, anxiety level, attention, hunger level, exercise. Every week we reassessed the original concerns and I asked the owner to observe their animal during the week and let me know what happened, and if they have noticed any changes.
Some of the dogs showed yawning, licking, or sighting during the session which showed that they were processing the information. Some of the dogs were so anxious that we had to use a licking pad to keep them occupied during the session as they would not have been able to settle down at the beginning.
Even when we needed to keep the dog busy with treats, the dogs were improving. Some were noticeably more calm after the session and some were the same, but the results were noticed during the week in normal activity. There was steady improvement every week, but by week 3 it was more obvious to the owner that the dog has indeed improved, changed, and adapted to situations or concerns mentioned in their first assessment form.

As a trainer in NeurOptimal®️ I did what we do with the people which is tracking and evaluating the changes occurring from week to week. Often times, the shifts happen in small increments and can be unnoticed and can be easily missed, every pet owner needed help to evaluate the changes occurring in their animal companion from week to week. Sometimes it was the neighbor or friend that noticed the changes in the dog being more calm. All of the animals showed some improvement overall.

Our Clients Stories

Border Collie

Rumi, Border Collie, 2 years old, male- separation anxiety, barking, excitable, feeling sad and depressed when Zoe, his person, is not around, digestive problem, reactivity at level 8 out of 10

My observations and Zoe observations from week to week:
First session: yawning during the whole 15 minute session. Remain lying down with giving treats sitting by the owner. The following weeks Rumi is more calm when I arrived at his home and as the week progress he is receiving his treatment without any treats and is very receptive and calm. Zoe says he is still barking at people when at home, but he is not so intense about it. He was more at ease meeting people and not barking at them when walking the trail. He has better recall when they met another dog or while playing with other dogs. Another time when crossing the street would have been a bad choice.
Zoe noticed that he was not so hyper and out of control when she came back from work after leaving Rumi with her son at home. He was excited to see her but not crazy. The son said that he was not so sad. Rumi laid down on the sofa instead of being by the door. He was more calm when she had a visitor at home as well.

Testimonial:
I was very happy to participate in the NeurOptimal trial with my 2 year old Border Collie with separation anxiety.I have found that he is far more receptive to dog training and letting go of fixations since we started the brain training. He noticeably relaxed during his session and it’s a nice time to connect with him. He has experienced reduced stress when left at home and I have noticed he is improving his recall.
